On-boarding Trading Partners with Mule Data Integrator – Upcoming Webinar
February 2nd, 2010
Since announcing Mule Data Integrator in November, we have seen great early adoption, with over a hundred organizations using it in development, and at least a handful who are going into production. The product is ideal for a wide variety of use cases, but one in particular has cropped up with some frequency: adding new trading partners (on-boarding) in large organizations.
Given that so many from the Mule community have been asking questions about this use case, we felt that it would make sense to do a live demo, showing how Mule Data Integrator can help dramatically simplify the on-boarding of trading partners and reduce the time to market for new customer or partner relationships.
Rapid Trading Partner on-boarding with Mule Data Integrator
Speaker: Francis Upton, Sr. Architect for Mule Data Integrator
Date: Wednesday, February 3rd
Time: 10am PT / 1pm ET
Mule Data Integrator (MDI) has many unique features to help with quickly on-boarding trading partners, including the ability to import meta-data for transformation maps using a map itself — that is, you can create the meta-data for MDI from a spreadsheet describing the input. Flat file data for trading partners is often present in a spreadsheet format, so this capability not only allows you to get the mapping done more quickly, but it reduces the possibility of errors. To allow a partner to easily verify that the mapping is correct, MDI can produce a spreadsheet that describes the mapping in a simple form that even a non-technical user will be comfortable with.
Mule Data Integrator can also help with validation of the trading partner data — another important concern. MDI has a rich validation capability that automatically validates all forms of data, not only the rules associated with the specification (like data type, size, etc.), but also against custom validation rules. In addition, MDI easily captures validation context information for error reporting, generating an automated error report which can be submitted directly to the partner originating the data.
Developers often encounter a problem when changes to specifications or internal processes require mapping changes. Mule Data Integrator provides automated regression testing with the transformation maps, allowing you to easily control the impact of the changes and verify that the maps are correct, eliminating a major source of deployment errors.
Highlights of this webinar will include:
- Quickly import the data formats from client-provided spreadsheets
- Map data to back-end XML or Java
- Create automated tests and a spreadsheet to show the mapping
Looking forward to seeing you at the event!
