Here at MuleSoft, every few months we take a couple days off and hold a company Hackathon. Usually these are individual efforts to build something unique and interesting using the technology and products that we create at MuleSoft. To kick off the new year, we decided to sponsor a team event and see if we [...]

Before streaming APIs, if you wanted to know if there were any updates on a specific event you had to query the API periodically and check if updates indeed occurred. Most likely, many of these queries would probably return no results as no new event happened but still resources were consumed in the process including [...]

How do you take your existing investments in Enterprise and SaaS Applications, and turn them into collaboration tools that make businesses more effective? Organizations utilizing CMIS-based content management systems such as Alfresco frequently need to integrate and interact with these systems of record, and increasingly find pushing the content out via new channels to [...]

Its about time the Web became more event-driven. We have had AJAX for many years enabling events between server and browser, but on the backend we are still polling data. With the explosion of public APIs from SaaS, Social Media and Infrastructure Apps, more and more applications are written by composing web APIs. Developers often need to [...]

There was a lot of buzz a few years ago around real-time web and since then it has been bubbling along. I have a financial/enterprise background so real-time has a very different meaning to me; time is measured in microseconds. Web real-time seems to be measured as sub 1 second . My issue with real [...]

SalesForce.com has always been a pioneer in the software as service(SaaS) space. By offering a reliable and highly flexible interface they have grown to a company with revenues of over a billion dollars a year. Currently today many companies store their system of record in SalesForce or at the very least use it for management of all customer accounts and opportunities. With such valuable information it isn’t any surprise that the need to integrate SalesForce.com with other systems in the enterprise is highly desirable. In this post I will take you though the use of Mule with SalesForce.

Millions of online transactions occur every day in the purchasing of goods and services. With each transaction a number of systems are involved. First some form of payment must be processed. Next the customer information is captured which must end up in a CRM system. Then the order for goods must be fulfilled by notifying the fulfillment system or by alerting a specific department to the order. Each step in the process is normally handled by a separate system with its own set of APIs and data model. This type of integration is something that Mule eats up!
